What is counselling?

The New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) states that;
"Counselling is the process of helping and supporting a person to resolve personal, social, or psychological challenges and difficulties.
A professional and well-trained counsellor helps clients to see things more clearly, possibly from a different viewpoint, and supports clients to focus on feelings, experiences or behaviour that will facilitate positive change."

Costs of counselling

Counselling sessions usually run for 50 minutes, I charge $115 (incl GST) for individuals (but this could be negotiated).

The I Am Hope fund (Gumboot Friday) offer limited funding for counselling for school-aged children and young people up to age 25. See link below for I Am Hope.

Funding may be available for individuals on low incomes through Work and Income NZ, speak with Work and Income for more information, or contact me.
